Our Principles
How we work
Khanea operates within clearly defined professional, ethical and jurisdictional boundaries.
Roles and Responsibility
Khanea structures programmes and provides access to practitioners, therapeutic settings and related services. It does not assume the responsibilities of the professionals delivering those services, nor does it provide advice or make decisions on matters falling within their professional responsibility.
Professional assessment and diagnosis sit within the remit of the relevant practitioners. Khanea shapes the wider programme around that expertise, determining its composition, sequence and structure.
Each practitioner retains responsibility for their own professional judgement and contribution. Khanea holds responsibility for the coherence and integrity of the programme as a whole.
Programmes draw on an established network of practitioners and clinical specialists, selected through direct relationships and with due regard for professional standards, ethics and safety.
Approach
Khanea does not regard any particular medicine, modality or practitioner as inherently suited to every circumstance. The consideration of any approach is informed by the individual circumstances, the nature of the engagement, relevant medical and psychological considerations, practitioner expertise, setting and applicable requirements.
Khanea’s role is to determine whether the circumstances support a particular pathway — and to decline where they do not.
Jusrisdiction
Each engagement is structured within the legal and professional framework of the jurisdiction in which it takes place. The availability and permitted use of therapeutic practices, medicines and professional services are determined by the requirements applicable in that jurisdiction.
An approach permitted in one jurisdiction does not, by itself, establish that it may be undertaken in another. Where the proposed engagement falls outside the applicable professional or legal framework, Khanea will not proceed.
Privacy
Privacy and discretion are fundamental to every Khanea engagement.
Client information and programme details are treated as confidential and disclosed only where necessary to the conduct of an engagement, or where disclosure is required by applicable professional or legal obligations.
The degree of privacy, proximity and involvement is determined by the circumstances of the client and the requirements of the engagement.
Participation
Clients are expected to provide the practitioners involved with all information relevant to their assessment and advice.
Where relevant information is knowingly withheld, Khanea will not proceed with the engagement.
The decision to proceed rests with the practitioner concerned, within the scope of their professional responsibility.
Boundaries
Khanea’s involvement may extend beyond programme structure to the practical arrangements surrounding an engagement, including settings, travel, accommodation, accompaniment and continuity.
Where existing practitioners form part of the client’s support network, Khanea may work alongside them as part of the engagement.
Acceptance
Not every enquiry becomes an engagement.
Khanea may decline to proceed where the requested scope, circumstances, jurisdiction, practitioner considerations or other factors do not allow the engagement to be undertaken.
Engagements are accepted with due regard for professional judgement, ethical standards and safety.
Confidentiality & Discretion
Every Khanea engagement is conducted with the highest regard for privacy, confidentiality and discretion.
Information is shared only where necessary to the engagement, with due regard for the client’s circumstances and professional obligations.
Every engagement begins with a conversation.
This allows us to understand where you are, what you are seeking, and whether Khanea is the right service for you. From there, we determine together the appropriate scope and structure of the engagement.
